How do you convert regular freewheel hub to fixed?

Just wasted $80 on a hub that's too big for my rim then I find out I can convert the old one but no ones helpin me and I'm finding out everything for the Internet but I still don't get what exactly the procedure is that I need to do please help me how do I make it fixed and why is it so confusing
