LCD or 3D????????????????????????

I play my PS3 all the time, and Sony recently announced a Playstation themed 3dtv. That's nice and all, but it's five hundred dollars (I have a VERY limited budget). But then I see lcd hdtvs, and I can get one in a bigger size (the 3d one is 24'') for less money. The 3d concept seems cool, but then I wonder if i'll ever really USE the 3d aspects. I don't know of many tv stations that support 3d, and I don't know if games will stay 3 dimensional for too long. So, should I go all out and buy the 3d tv, or spend less and get a larger lcdtv? And do you think that this 3d craze will last?
