What does the bible say about fighting?

Like if someone seriously disrespects you and you have to give them a stern pounding, lol. But seriously, what do you do in those kinds of situations? Are you just supposed to sit there and let them wail on you like a punk? Or retaliate? Any ideas on what the Bible says about that?
